What Makes Ultra Moon Different?

Pokémon Ultra Moon is the expanded companion to Moon, set once again in the tropical Alola region. It adds new story scenes, more Ultra Beasts to discover, and a post-game episode featuring every villain team leader from past games. Dusk Mane Necrozma leads the box art, and the new forms change how key battles play. Prefer the Sun version? Get the Pokémon Ultra Sun ROM instead.

Ultra Moon Citra Performance

Pokémon Ultra Moon runs well on Citra. It is demanding like the other Alola games, so a strong CPU gives the best results. Modern PCs reach full speed easily, and recent Android phones play it smoothly at 1x or 2x resolution.

Optimizing Citra for Ultra Moon

1. Set the graphics renderer to Hardware. Software mode is far too slow for a game this demanding.
2. Use 2x resolution on PC for sharp visuals. On Android, 1x keeps the frame rate steady on older phones.
3. Turn on the hardware shader. It fixes missing textures in cutscenes and battles.
4. Enable audio stretching if the music stutters during long cutscenes.
